Adoption attorneys

Some families choose to have an attorney involved from the beginning. If you choose to, make sure that your attorney specializes in adoptions. If you are considering adopting from another state, it is a good idea to have an attorney involved to help expedite the paperwork.

Attorneys can also help with things like negotiating subsidies, reviewing files before placement or finalization.

Some states require you to have an attorney in order to finalize the adoption.
